The short version
This site sets one cookie, and it exists to remember that you told us not to track you. There is no advertising cookie, no third-party analytics cookie, no social-network cookie, and no session recorder anywhere on cohesivejournal.com.
Essential storage
| Name | ship_tracking_consent |
|---|---|
| Set by | Cohesive (first-party) |
| Purpose | Records your privacy choice and the version of the policy it was given under, so the choice is honoured and only requested again if the policy changes materially. |
| Contents | A policy version and one of two words: essential or analytics. Nothing that identifies you. |
| Lifetime | 365 days |
| Attributes | Path=/, SameSite=Lax, and Secure when served over HTTPS |
This cookie is strictly necessary for the site to respect your decision, so it is set without asking — asking permission to remember your refusal would be circular. It carries no identifier and cannot be used to recognise you across sites.
Optional analytics
Optional analytics stay switched off until you choose “Allow analytics”, and the default is essential-only. Choosing “Essential only” degrades nothing: no feature of this site depends on analytics, and the waitlist form works identically either way.
Cohesive uses no third-party analytics provider. When analytics are allowed, what is recorded is event names, timings, counts, and failure codes, stored in Cohesive’s own database — never the content of anything you type, and never a profile of you. Nothing is shared with an advertising network, because Cohesive does not use one.
Server logs
Serving any web page necessarily involves your browser connecting to a server. The content delivery network in front of this site processes that connection metadata, including your IP address, to deliver the page and to block abuse. That is not a cookie, you cannot opt out of it and still receive the page, and it is not combined with anything else Cohesive holds about you.
Change your choice
Open Privacy choices in the footer to change your decision at any time. Withdrawing consent stops future optional collection immediately. Because the choice itself lives in the cookie above, clearing your browser cookies resets it, and you will be asked once more on your next visit.
